PROCHÁZKA V ANGLIČTINĚ
For centuries, Kampa has been the site of famous pottery markets and is one of the leading tourist attractions. Above all, it is a green island that now offers a place to relax and unwind in the very heart of Old Prague. It reflects the diversity of life; here you can find not only bourgeois houses but also embassies, the only water palace in Prague, artists’ villas, mills, and homes of those who lived from hand to mouth and whose names were mostly ignored by the great history.
Fortunately, even the plans that intended to destroy Kampa in the 20th century were ignored, and so it has been preserved in its simple beauty, though it still needs to be defended. “Please let us not overlook the efforts of those who still wish to destroy and let us defend life and its beauty; it is worth it.” The walk will begin at the Herget Brickworks and you will walk through the entire Kampa, all the way to the Jechental Houses near the Legion Bridge, while stopping at significant sites and buildings as you learn the fate of not only the buildings but also their residents.
Admission CZK 320. Tickets need to be purchased in advance via GoOut.net.
